I just don't know

I bought stevia, I stood in the isle for ages trying to figure it out. I really need to start drinking more water and getting off the soda again. Getting healthy is going to kill me.

Stevia bloats me something awful. Turns out I have an allergy to it! This diet stuff is hard, but Hubs and I have been working on it seriously for a couple of weeks. He lost 5 pounds the first week, and I lost 3. We are doing a very low carb diet, 20 grams a day, but we have high protein in the diet. It’s quite doable, but takes time to plan, to shop, to cook… Last night we ate at Applebees, and they had a wonderful plate for us: grilled chicken breast with pico de gallo on top, steamed broccoli, green beans with bacon, and grilled shrimp with butter sauce. That’s perfect for the diet. At the moment, I’m not craving any sugars or starches, but I know the time will come! Stay strong!

I have heard that sugar lights up your brain the same way crack does, it is a hard thing to manage. I am trying also to get control of this because right now it is controlling me. I guess we just have to do one day at a time. I’m hoping that you will have a easier time in the days ahead.

So, about 11 years ago, I was diagnosed with Diabetes, as well.
Total and complete shock.
Refined sugar was a big one to cut back on, immediately, but I saw the biggest changes by cutting out the carbs. Once I purged bread and rice and pasta, my numbers started changing.
It took a few years, but I pulled my weight down and my numbers changed and I moved into pre-diabetic status.
I’ve been able to hold off on insulin with diet and exercise, and have to rededicate myself to the cause every few years because I start to get lazy with it.
Anything you need or want to talk about, I’m here!
