Happy Monday!

Working today again. Not quite as cool as the spiders, but today I’m quoting packaging for CBD products for a very famous home and lifestyle figure who went to jail for insider trading. Of all things for her to market - I had a good chuckle when I saw this.

I also called the school about not receiving Owen’s IEP yet and apparently it still isn’t signed by the director. She said that they were working on them today and if I wanted, they will call when ready and I can come pick it up, so that’s on my agenda for today too.

Planning on surprising the kids with burgers and corn on the cob, if I can find any locally.

I have too much to do in the next few days for Ally’s party. I feel like this stretch is the worst.
I also have a ton to do for her college. Their registration and class selection is so much harder than Zach’s was. She’s registered, but there’s a long checklist of items they need. They don’t have the online capacity that Zach’s school does which means printing a ton of forms, filling them out, signing, scanning, and emailing them all. They also require things that Zach’s school did not.
It’s just excessive and all due right around Ally’s graduation party.
Then she has her graduation ceremony end of July. Then everything starts speeding up more with Zach leaving to go back, The younger kids going back and then Ally headed to college. I need to get so much for them all. I’m so not prepared for these last few weeks.

@Sara, make lists. That’s the only way I keep track of things when I get busy.

I finished cutting out the Ken clothes and the face masks. I may or may not get to sewing them today. I have to go to the post office. DH has some errands he wants to run. I’m tired and feeling the need for a nap.

It’s raining here today. That’s not helping my energy level any. It’s a day when you just want to curl up with a good book.

Started refrigerator pickles. Started apricot jam. Weeded some. Made rhubarb sauce.

Have day job stuff to do. Last major changes for this volume, illustrations to add, etc. Not sure what this one gets for front matter – need to ask.

Have one package to mail, sometime this week. It’s a freebie, so no hurry.

Need to make strawberry ice cream. Also, the fridge needs to be purged and wiped clean. This is the usual summer glut.

Aside from all of that? There’s the usual culling books/stuff, finding homes for what we want to keep. I broke a crock last week, need to get one of the backups from the attic.

This day is not going well. I’m on a launch team for a new book series, and we were to have a zoom meeting today. And of course, our always unreliable internet cut out, and zoom was saying my email and password were wrong and that my system was out of date… blah blah blah. End result: I missed the meeting.

Had late night call from son, and his bipolar condition was evidently swinging down. Yet he refuses medicines… Very disturbing.

Working with the gym today on a volunteer project, and working on another volunteer project. Need to make some cards for both of these, and finish my art project.

Doing my workout this afternoon and skipping evening yoga as I have craft club tonight. Making browinies as a gift for the lady who picks me up for club.

Later…

@forHISglory, the  on your post is a hug for “I care” I think the hardest thing for bipolar people to do is to take their meds. Sometimes they’re very expensive and they invariably have bad side effects.

I know one young lady that wasn’t taking hers because they cost her in excess of $400/mth and caused excessive weight gain and lethargy that interfered with her job as a commercial insulation installer. And that’s in Canada. Land of “free” medical care.

I finished mailing parcels. Stopped by the grocery store for fresh fruit. I have laundry on the go. DH wants to prep the master bedroom for painting, so I better go help.

Well… I was not approved for the diet study. They told me that according to my BMI, BP, age, height and weight and general health that I was TOO healthy for the study. Say what?

Oh well… I still want to lose a few pounds, but guess that I will do it on my own. Sheesh… and I just finished off a box of cookies to get ready for all this…

Well today I learned about a new Amazon scam called “brushing.” A third party gets your shipping address (maybe from hacking, or maybe from an order you placed with them before) and places a new order on your behalf and ships the item out to you. Then they create a 5 star positive rating that shows up as “verified purchase” because they’ve created this order.

How did I find this out? Because today I got a package from Amazon that I didn’t order, was never on a wishlist so I couldn’t believe anyone ordered for me, and had a dummy throwaway phone number on the shipping label for me. So I now have a brand new, never opened 6 foot tall T-Rex Sprinkler, which is currently being sold on Amazon for $86.

I contacted Amazon and they said thank you, they would flag that order as fraud, and I can keep it.
So weird!

LOL I read this as I was eating a cookie and laughed!
I am glad you’re healthy! That’s awesome even if it disqualified you from the study.

Well it turned out all the help DH needed was in emptying the closet and figuring out where to put things while he preps walls and paints.

So after doing that I came downstairs and sewed face masks. I’m at a stopping point now. I can’t find my needle nose pliers to bend the ends of the wire nose piece. So I’m taking a break and snacking on an apple.

I put rice on for supper. We’ll have it with pork chops and broccoli.

What is the scammer’s advantage in doing this?

I’ve seen the six feet tall unicorn sprinkler! Hate scams but cool you can keep it.

Their ratings go up and they get more sales. Social proof is a big deal in e-commerce.

They get to post a glowing review, and because there’s an order associated with it it becomes a “verified review” - and the higher your ratings/reviews the more likely something is to sell. It’s similar but morally more wrong that just paying for reviews.

is the review from your account? can you delete it? If the purchase is marked as fraud does that mean its no longer a verified purchase? I have so many questions. And also now I really want a 6 foot tall t-rex sprinkler…

Well, I immediately changed my password and double checked my reviews (did you know that Amazon will hide your reviews based on a sensitivity filter if they deem the product is somehow “sensitive” in nature? And this includes self-help books?). Didn’t see anything.

Listed it for sale on Facebook Marketplace since neither of my kids is interested in it.

Today was more party planning and purchases. Just about done!
Ally got her placement test results and her scores from her IB classes so credits toward college. She’s placed in all second year classes.
I had a job interview that went well.
Then the usual daily stuff like always.
I feel like I blinked and it’s 7:30pm! Wow it’s crazy. Really crazy!
