I was thinking about you and your sister because I decided I want to tally how many loads I actually am getting from this latest jug of laundry detergent! I used Charlie’s Soap for a while and used a little measuring spoon. But now I have liquid detergent and I’m curious. I struggled to find the fill line! Seriously, it has multiple measuring lines and all are hard to see and my laundry room is well lit!
I have done this before. I used a sharpie and marked the fill line I wanted to use on the cup so I could see it easily. Then I just made a mark on the plastic jug with a sharpie…you know the four lines then the fifth across corner to corner to easily count off by 5’s. I used Charlie’s soap for a while too…then tide…now I am trying gain. I felt like the tide really built up in the clothes? Maybe I should go back to Charlie’s?
I love Charlie’s. I like that I feel as if a little goes a long way. It is expensive compared to let’s say Purex or Sun. But I did not need any fabric softener, so it evened out a bit more budget-wise and the clothes felt soft and just had a nice clean scent. I know some people did not like it and prefer Persil, 7th generation or Caldrea. It is true that you might encounter your clothes not feeling so great the first time out of the dryer. But it removes all the residue and build up! I noticed right away how much softer the t-shirts and my towels were! I think I remember some people saying it scratched their washer? That’s very weird to me. I did not ever have that happen!
I used Gain for years. Personally, I love the scents (even their dish liquid), but it’s very hard on my youngest daughter’s skin. She itched and I felt horrible about that, so stopped using it even though I liked it. I can’t use Tide without somehow feeling as if I am overpaying. LOL I can’t say I’ve had any problems with it, when I used it, but maybe that’s because I was too busy being so joyful that I actually splurged and bought it. LOL
