Hummingbirds are Here

I put out the feeders last weekend and sure enough this morning I was blessed to see 2 hummingbirds dancing all around the feeders. It was a welcomed sight. I really did feel blessed and full of joy just seeing those birds. Amazing how little things can bring joy to your day.

Anyone else have hummingbirds yet? How much longer before they show up?

Not yet, Pat. And I have not kept track previous years as to when they do come. But I bet ours will show up in a week or two.

We sat outside for about an hour last night watching the hummingbirds. I love to look at them. DD even got out Mel’s binoculars so that she could see them in more detail.

Hummingbirds are just starting to migrate in our area. I haven’t spotted any yet.

Glad they are slow in coming here. Last year we lost a number of them along with the Orioles because of the snowstorm we had in the middle of May. I’m hoping the weather warms up pretty quickly so we don’t lose any this year.

I can’t wait until they are back though. I love watching those little guys - they are amazing.

I have seen them here4 as well, Pat. We filled the feeder today and have already had a couple feed on it. They are so fun to watch. Territorial little boogers too. LOL

I saw the first one Sunday. Its been so chilly here, I suspect they wish they had stayed further south. Guess I better get the feeder filled and ready! Do you ladies use a commercial hummingbird feeding solution or do you concoct your own?

I put the feeder out this past weekend but haven’t seen any yet, it has been on the chilly side here yet so maybe it’s too cold for them yet

I make my own. It is a simple 4 :1 ratio. Just be sure to boil it hard to kill any bacteria.

I make my own as well.

My parents brought this to us from New Orleans, I think. I thought it was so cool. It’s a
great idea to use for home made ones.

I haven’t noticed any around here yet. I don’t have a feeder anymore…I think it either got left in Lumberton when we moved last year or got lost in the move.

My mom has hummingbird feeders all over the place and she makes her on food as well.

That’s a neat looking feeder. I’ve not seen any like that before.

Anyone know when they come to Central Minnesota???

Can track them here:

Thank you I will check those links!! :yippee:

I see on the Migration Map people have seen hummers in Minnesota but haven’t seen any where I live yet, is there a certain temperature it has to be before they come and stay?

We got em around here

Just saw our first one yesterday.

Any Minnesotans out there that have seen hummingbirds yet?
