Bird feeders?

Do you have bird feeders? What are your favorite birds?

We only feed them here and there through out bad winter weather. Had not feed at all for a few years ( mild winter) but this winter was a rough one so I bought 2 20# bags of food. Just threw it out over the ice and they found it in no time! I did think it was relaxing watching them. Don’t have actual bird feeders. You have to keep them clean to keep the birds healthy and I have no desire to mess with that. I have a friend that feeds them all year long with multiple feeders. Funny thing is she has no money, lots of bills but spends lots of money feeding birds.

I honestly don’t know one bird from another…except crow, quail and bald eagles…other than that they are “birds” to me!

I love wild birds. I started bird watching as a child. I was given a bird guide and binoculars as a gift when I was little. When we moved in here, I had multiple feeders. But I can see a wide variety of birds without the feeders because we have a creek and a lot of shelter for birds. I haven’t had filled feeders in a few years now.

We have feeders, but I don’t fill them anymore. We used to get all kinds of birds until the squirrels moved into the neighborhood. Now they just steal the seed, so we don’t put it out anymore. I feel for the birds, but honestly, the squirrels have too big an appetite for our pocketbook!

Oh I hear you! We have so many squirrels, too! I started hanging seed socks from my shepherd’s hook pole and the squirrels stopped because they don’t like it and just couldn’t handle swinging I guess. LOL

I love seeing the orioles. I used to put out sugar water to get them and hummingbirds, but they are easy to attract with just a cut orange, so I put a cut orange out starting the last week of April and just look out my kitchen window and wait for them.

I saw my first spring bunny in the backyard today!
