With band camp, some of the high school kids were in the newspaper. Ally had a photo in the article and so did her boyfriend (and a bunch of other band members, too). The pic of her boyfriend (Sam) was adorable. I’d post it, but he’s not my child, so I don’t feel comfortable doing that.
She played violin, but stopped playing when middle school wouldn’t allow her schedule to continue playing two instruments in 8th grade. So she stuck with flute. But then entering high school, the marching band needed tuba players. So she volunteered to play tuba in marching band and will play flute in concert band.
My oldest, Zach plays in the band, too. He plays saxophone in band and cello in orchestra. He plays cello in the community orchestra, too. Ally might do that too. But she took an important year off from violin (her fourth year), so not sure if she should. We’ll see.
I’m excited for all of my kids, but I’m especially excited with Ally going into 9th grade. She has so much she wants to do club-wise. It’s a great time to be a mom. It’s hard to believe she’s already a freshman and my oldest son is a junior.
