2019 Planners

I’m not a huge store bought planner person, usually print out a few months of calendars, grocery lists and menu plan pages for my three ring binder every few months. But I have been thinking of getting a nice bound planner for 2019 and am wondering if there are any “planner people” out there in Frugal SOS land? I know you exist, lol, there are entire YouTube channels about bullet journaling and planners. So, My question, can anyone suggest a good one and tell me the features and benefits that you love about it? I can spend some money on them but if I do I want one that is going to be really good for me.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t been able to find an all in one type planner that I really like. So, the result is, I have a paper calendar that I use for the family and really like. I leave it on the kitchen counter and I keep it updated and we all check it to see who is where and who can drive who where and when.

Then, I keep my grocery list on my phone in an app called “Wunderlist.” So much easier to update and then I have my phone with me at the store, so I don’t have to worry about forgetting the list.

I have a bullet journal, but find that I don’t use the to-do section as I should, and I think it’s because it has a cover and I don’t have the list staring me in the face. Make sense? So, I need to figure out a solution for that.

I’m in the same boat, as Amy, but I’ve been using a PlanAhead “Mother’s Organizer” for the past few months and really like it. The main reason I really like it is that it has a monthly calendar, and a weekly calendar, which is what I use most often.

The weekly spreads start on Monday and the dates are rows, with 7 columns for: AM, PM, Child 1, Child 2, Child 3, Child 4 and a grocery list/notes column which runs through the entire week.

I have no kids, but I have a lot of projects and pieces of projects. It’s hard to find any way to track multiple pieces with multiple steps using a page a day or week a page or whatever.

I have also printed my own from the diy planner site too in years past. I may do so again this year, I haven’t decided.

I don’t know how to post a link but you may want to google “ an Oregon cottage flexible planner 2019”. An Oregon cottage is a blog I like to read sometimes and she has created a planner you print yourself that is a combo of traditional planner and bullet journal. It looks like something I would really like…I think it is $12. I was thinking about getting “the simplified planner” a few years ago. It’s like $60 dollars…then I figured it would be like others I have bought and would just mostly sit in a drawer. I love the idea of a planner but I don’t have kids and I closed my business and don’t intend to work outside the home again so sometimes I wonder what I really need to plan? I still do intend to get my bullet journal going to organize what I do at home…

JUST AN UPDATE because I know you all are on pins and needles here (sarcasm alert)
I found a planner. At Target of all places. So, crisis averted and just in time for January.

I was always a fan of Franklin planners, but think I’m going to give the Panda planner a whirl. We’ll see. I’ve been living life with a notebook for a while now and doing okay. Sometimes seeing things all filled out was overwhelming, but I know I’d be more productive if I planned my time better and gave tasks a specific time slot. I know if I just bit the bullet and did either curbside shopping or grocery delivery, it would be a game changer. So I might dive into that in the new year. Food-related tasks and laundry take up a huge chunk of my life.
