it’s noon and I didn’t see this thread yet.

I made it to sleep last night without the OTC stuff I’ve been taking. I also called my boyfriend on a whim yesterday (didn’t think he’d answer) and he did. We talked for about 15 minutes. I’m now more confused, still sad, angry, depressed - like a million emotions going through me, but he sounded a lot more like himself than the few cryptic texts I’d gotten. I’m wondering if he had a mental breakdown and spent time in a hospital. I’m not sure if “better” is the right word for how I feel but it’s a lot easier to drag myself through the day than it was.

Got up this morning and worked at my old job for two hours - sometimes I miss it and want to go back because I think the people there were more personable, but wow, this morning the whining and crappy decisions they continue to make reminded me of how glad I am to be out of there.

I’m planning on going out to see the new Han Solo movie by myself shortly, and later tonight I’m going to hang out with my aunt. I baked a loaf of chocolate banana bread this morning with some bananas about to go bad.

Good morning everyone! 🙂

I’ve sold a computer desk already today. Spent some time lowering prices on other items and bumping them to get more coverage. Had someone express an interest in our oak futon. We’ll see. I texted that it was still for sale and haven’t heard back from her. So I doubt it’s a sale.

DH is impressed with my sales skills. I’m just doing my part to see we have enough money to move when the time comes. We have several more big ticket items to put on the market before September.

Spent some time watching a course lesson on The Art of Cooking, all about making stocks. Found out I’ve been doing it wrong for years. Nothing like a cooking course to zap your previous confidence in cooking!

Plan on having a relaxed day today, and meeting up with friends this evening.

Have a great day everyone! 🙂

My husband does a lot of art work, especially of mid-west scenes. He loves to do silos. He did one recently that had 3 old silos in it. One was tall and skinny, one was short and fat, and one was just tall and normal sized. I told him that the first two reminded me of R2D2 and 3CPO. We decided the the normal sized one was Hans Silo. LOL

I’ve been missing in action for a few days. We had to make a trip to STL to visit with our financial planner. He’s the one we used when we lived down there, and he is super. We didn’t want to switch when we moved here, so that necessitates a trip down there every so often. It was a good trip. Hubs and I turn 70 1/2 next year, and that’s when the government gets excited about our investments… and demands that we begin to take a mandatory withdrawal… and pay them taxes. I thought that it would start the month that we turn 70 1/2. Nope. It starts Jan. 1 of the YEAR we turn 70 1/2. So he helped us navigate that and get all our ducks in order and get the papers signed for that milestone. With the way he has it planned for us, we can do the mandatory withdrawal, and still not be touching principal. Whoo HOO!

We also talked with him about how to best invest my portion of the profit from the sale of my folk’s farm. We don’t know an exact amount as it will be sold thru auction, and anything can happen there. But we are putting a reserve price per acre on the sale, and if the bidding doesn’t meet that price, then we probably will not sell it right away. Anyway, it seems probable that I would end up with about $200,000 to invest. The planner’s suggestion is that I look into equities that pay dividends. He said that we would receive guaranteed income from that and it would keep the funds out of the government’s pesky fingers in that 70 1/2 mess. So for those of you who might grow old some day… that’s something to think about.

While we were down in the STL area, we visited with several friends, and stayed a couple of nights with friends. Came home and the temps suddenly fell 20 degrees, and had a little rain. Picked beans and cleaned them. Did laundry.

Today I had craft club, and will be cleaning house soon. Doing some paperwork for an organization for which I am treasurer.

Back from work. It was an okay day. Ally is in Arizona now. I think she’s staying until Monday night and then back to New Mexico.
Zach will be home from work soon. I need to sort out something for dinner. I should do laundry. Not sure it will dry outside because it’s so humid (rained earlier), so I’m hesitant to wash it now and try to hang it with only having maybe 4 hours to dry.
Happy to have two days in a row off.
